From the Professor Postings

Spring 2009

I know a lot of you are curious about what to do to get started. First I keep an archive of all of these messages at the course wiki site at http://cet4429.pbwiki.com/

1. This course is about "doing" - nearly the entire grading scale is based upon what you can do and demonstrate that you can do through the weekly assignments. These can be extensive (some of them at least will be challenging) - so you may have to get a "jump" on them.

2. You do have a project. Unfortunately I have not had a lot of time to get clients, but they do require a client. Because of this if you have an idea for a system and can clearly articulate it I will serve as a client for you - I will also bring some outside people to help me with this. But first and foremost, unless you plan on doing the project as a solo effort (which is OK) - you need to start forming your group.

Your first assignment is due next Sunday - and it may take some work. Also you will need SQ Server or another database software to complete this - so you would do best to get started.
